I’m so proud to announce Kay as my next buzzworthy artist. Kay is a Canadian artist, born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I’m sure many of you guys know that these past few years the charts have been dominated by so many pop superstar like, Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Usher to name a few, however, this will all be changing very soon!

Kay is currently signed under Interscope / UMG and is working very hard to complete her first LP. Unlike many other artists, Kay delivers new and fresh sound to the world–it’s a mix of pop, 80’s pop, funk and a subtle hint of hip-hop. Not much can be revealed about her LP but she’s been working with so many talented producers to make sure that she has got a hit album on her hands.By listening to her music, you can tell that she’s very confident and combined with her hip-hop/urban style, she’s sure a force to be reckoned with.

On another note, she has just released her first EP here in Canada entitled “My Name Is Kay/M.A.J.O.R.“. The EP contains her new single called “My Name Is Kay” and is written by  Evan Bogart  and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. It has got a very funky/jazzy bass with lots of handclaps and stomping beats to it; very empowering and energetic. This track can be described as an introduction to Kay–she has arrived and ready to take over the radio and the charts. The other track is called of course “M.A.J.O.R.” (produced by Dr Rosen Rosen) which offers a very 80’s pop with a hint of funk and bass.

This EP also packs amazing remixes such as FrankMusik’s Lost the Damn Gameboy Remix of “My Name Is Kay.” Another great remix is Tiesto’s remix of “M.A.J.O.R.”. Also, Kay contributed her voice to Tiesto’s song entitled “Work Hard, Play Hard.”
