When it comes to toothbrush, many people make the mistake of buying a toothbrush that they think are working for them. Yes, I have had my reservations on electronic toothbrush; I have always thought that they do not clean as well as a regular toothbrush. For me, electronic toothbrush is such a hit or miss situation and there are so many options to choose from, so that is not helping. Over the past few years, I have tried a few electronic toothbrushes from Rotadent to Oral-B and they were bad. My dentist recommended the Rotadent to me and so I have tried it and it broke in couple of months. Both the Oral-B and Rotadent do seem to have one thing in common and that is the lack of power. I stopped using the electronic toothbrush for a while until I saw the commercial for the Philips Sonicare FlexCare+ toothbrush. I thought to myself, here is something different and it intrigued me. I’ve been using it for almost 3 weeks now and it is the best toothbrush I have ever used. Now, let’s begin the review! 🙂

All of the Philips Sonicare toothbrushes are known for their patented sonic technology–what the sonic technology does is offer a powerful yet gentle cleaning action that reaches deep between the teeth and along the gum line. It also improves gum health in two weeks, removes plaques and whiten teeth. The FlexCare+ offers a sleek design with an illuminated display panel on brush handle and with battery that lasts up to three weeks.

What’s in the Box?
In the box, you can find a travel case, two brush heads, toothbrush handle, multiple rings for brush head identification, one charging dock as well as a charging dock with a UV sanitation compartment. Now, the UV sanitation compartment is definitely one of the key features of this toothbrush. It removes up to 99% of bacteria found on brush heads in only ten minutes. Inside the compartment, there is a tray that is detachable for easy cleaning and you can clean up to two brush heads in one single usage.

Like I said, I’ve been using this toothbrush for almost three weeks now and I’m very pleased with the results that it has given me. Not sure if you know, but, I’m a huge drinker of coffee and tea. I always drink black tea and we know that both tea and coffee stain your teeth and unfortunately it did so to my teeth. I’ve been so frustrated as to how I should get rid of these stains fast and quick. This toothbrush come with 5 different mode settings–Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Massage and Refresh. If you haven’t used any of the Sonicare toothbrush, I suggest using the sensitive mode first as the vibration of the toothbrush is very strong and you may not be used to it just yet.

After I had finished brushing my teeth, I could immediately tell that the stains on my front teeth are already gone and the ones in between are starting to fade. Not only just that, it also removed plaques and food that were stuck in between my tooth. It makes flossing easier and my floss has never been cleaner. My gums are actually healthier and not as inflamed anymore. Normally when I floss, my gums would bleed a little but after a week of using this toothbrush, my gums don’t bleed at all whenever I floss.

I would definitely recommend this toothbrush to anyone who wants to improve their oral health. I even got compliments from people about how white my teeth are and most importantly my hygienist is amazed at how much my gum health has improved. Trust me, this will be the only toothbrush that you will ever need!
The FlexCare+ retails for $189.99 and is available at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Amazon.com, Philips.com/Store and if you are in Canada it is also available at Shoppers, The Bay, Walmart and Future Shop.
